Welcome to our new online edition of the newsletter. I do hope that you find the articles interesting?

If not, you know what to do.... write your own!

Also, there have been some changes since we first started.

In keeping with our new venue and in recognition of the "style" of Aikido being taught at the Northern Aikido Hombu dojo - we have decided to call the site Heart &  Sword in appreciation of the link with Maitre Andre Nocquet.

The title was originally taken from his book of the same name.  The Maitre having been told by 'O' Sensei that he had a heart like a sword within Aikido and that in order to neutralise his enemies he must project his heart and not his sword.  In other words do not use Aikido with an intention of malice to strike back , but rather to be compassionate enough to 'embrace' the enemy and promote love to neutralise him instead.

We have been at our present venue above Tatters beauty basement for a little over two months now.  So happy birthday Hombu.  We have slowly started to build up, but we still require students both old and new to come along and take advantage of our fantastic facilities.  If we each get another person to come along and train then we could go from strength to strength in a shorter time.  Plus everyone is welcome.
